I have a 30 minute commute to school everyday...not bad... 24mpg WITH dragging caliper for a V6 that i beat on, fine with me. This is the best mileage car i've ever owned and the most fun

Thats not bad at all really... my "econo" 2.5L 5cyl avg's around 26-28mpg with my 65-68MPH avg commute... unfortunately that mileage drops to 23-24 at cross country rally speeds. And hey, having fun is what really matters right?

VW switch to a 5cyl? I thought it was still a turbo 4cyl The GTI is a 2.0L turbo 4 cylinder... The Rabbit (still known as the Golf in the ROW) runs a North American-only 2.5L 5 cylinder normally aspirated motor with 150-170HP (depending on year) that reacts quite well to modification (the '08+ motors, the 170HP, make more power generally than the old 12v 2.8L VR6 with similar mods). Oddly though, the 2.5L is the replacement to the old 115HP 2.0L 4cylinder that has been around since '93 as the "economy" motor; yet the GTI "performance" motor, gets better mileage (I had a '06 GTI w/ the 2.0L turbo motor before my rabbit i have now)

Well even if it is just Karoline and I, we are going to the Hilltop for dinner. We will be there at 5pm. From there we are going to IKEA on 95s off of exit 46 in CT to pick up Dale and who ever decides to show up there then head to Geno's for Cheese steaks. If we have people with us... That will rock, If not we will still enjoy the ride and food.
bet that Dale, Ashley and the others on the list will show up where they say.

If it's rain, we'll be there. If it's sunny (at 9:00 at night) we'll be afraid but we'll be there!

You don't even know how many people asked me to set up an over night drive. I figured we would have more people, thats for sure.
Oh well... It will still be a blast.

There was plenty of notice given and, as you've said, many folks asking for this as far back as June. Oh well, what's the final headcount and meeting spot(s)?

Not sure how many people. I think just the few listed and Ashley(although she has not told me for sure).
Meeting at the Hilltop in Saugus on Rt1 S at 5pm. Eating dinner then leaving around 6:00pm.
First stop is IKEA off of exit 46 on Rt 95 in CT at 8:30pm. I figure we will do the bathroom thing then leave at 9:00pm.
We should be arriving at Geno's at 12:30-1am.
Leave Geno's around 2am
Arriving at Oh Boy diner off exit 88 on 95 N at about 5:30 - 6am
If you are meeting up with us along the way bring my cell phone number with you. 603-233-8948. Call me along the way.

I have not heard back from the organizer. I'll see if I can get in touch with him and if they are still doing their run. If they are maybe we can run into them.
