Although I think it would be an AWESOME trip, especially having this as a Spring trip after a LONG Winter where the weather gets warmer and warmer as you go : ) I vote for doing both but , I do see your point that it could detract from the August participation.

I'd do both. We are talking 5 months and 9 months away. I'd be willing to bet that we could all find a way to make it work that we do both.

Oh trust me I know the money issue thing oh too well lol.
If we do the dragon in April we have 4 months to the August run. If we do it in the fall we have 2 months FROM the August run and 2 month until Christmas. Either way it's going to take some planning financially.
Once we can figure out a time that is good for everyone that would like to go I can start planning it.
We can plan it for another year as well. 08 is just a thought.
I've been wanting to do the dragon for a few years now so when we can get 20+ people to commit I'm up for it. If we are going to do it I want to do it in a huge group.
Once we set a date I don't think participation will be an issue. We go to a ton of car shows in the spring and summer. I'm sure we can get a bunch of people if I pass out flyers at the shows.

i did 3 dragon runs and all of them were amazing!!!! if some of u have never gone then seriously leave today and do it. i drove a Alpina Z8 with my buddy and it was awesome with the top down. 2nd time i took my own orange celica and that was right after the AWD swap and once again it was nothing short of awesome. but the 3rd time, i went on a bike trip with my friends and drove my old turbo hyabusa... that scared the shit out of me lol

Well I guess that would be part of the fun. Making sure that you are driving perfectly and recording every moment of it. That way if they do decide to pull you for something you will have a defense. maybe lol
