Would anyone be interested in a cruise down to NYC for the lighting of the christmas tree in Rockefeller Square?
This is a late November tradition.
We could 1) drive our cars, 2) take a chartered bus or 3) do a TSD (time, speed, distance) rally accounting for our various starting points
Any thoughts?

I'd be up for it. I'd want to drive though. We could meet up in central/western Mass and all cruise together.
Do you know of any local hotels I could talk to to get us a group rate?
Anyone else up for it?

Local (NYC) hotels at thist ime will be pricey... should be a 2.5 hour ride in, couple hours in the city and 3 hour (or so) ride out.
A hotel in CT would be more reasonable. Maybe a CT bed and breakfast (or an Inn).
Just thoughts....

I would pass, I got a family vacation in South Carolina coming up in the early spring that I gotta save for, plus a few plans for the RSX over the winter.

I think it is a kick ass idea! If I win the lottery I am down, trust me! Christmas time is rough, my wife is a crazy shopper!

I HATE driving my car in NYC personally. The roads are Pieces of SH%t. Last time I was coming over the GW bridge and the road section was so grooved out I actually creased my exhaust on the asphalt just staying in the normal travel lane.

Yup... When I drove my civic, I used to drive in between lanes, otherwise I would literally DRAG my car across the GW...

I'd rather enter my car in the Paris/Dakar Rally than drive in NYC

hmmmmm New England Rally Maine to Miami? That would have to be a 5 day thing though so we could enjoy a day there.

I plan to do the dragon some day (Although the cops there are ruthless)
I figure we will do a NER Dragon run one of the days. Maybe for one of our spring rides or something.

Hmmmmm. From NH It's 17 hours to the nearest hotel to the dragon. That's 34 hours round trip plus Dragon cruising time. So we can figure a day enjoying the local roads.
If we leave at 6am Friday morning we would arrive at 11pm(ish) Friday night. Cruise all day Saturday and leave Sunday morning to head home.
In all reality we could make this a 3 day trip.
Sound like a plan for our spring run in April or do we want to keep it in New England as a day long ride?

good question. i'm not sure if i'd want to do the dragon run in the spring and then the august run. funds might be tight and thats a ton of miles. realistically the dragon run in the spring may detract from the august run as we look at the august run to be the "big event"

That was my though as well. I'd hate to have people have to decide on 1 or the other.
