Just picked this up and installed it in tonight. Hopefully no more tickets this year I might give it a test run on the way up to Subimods tomorrow. www.radarroy.com/2009/08/review-escort-redline-radar-detector/"...However, if you’re a “road warrior” with a spending a majority of your time travelling interstate highways, have a CDL (Commercial Drivers License), or drive in areas where radar detectors are illegal and need a “stealth radar detector” immune to all RDD’s then yes, the Redline is hands down the worlds best super charged extreme long range radar detector made today!"

The first test run was a success. Compared to the Escort Passport 8500 that I was using, the difference of the Escort Redline is like night and day. Driving to Hartford today it went off so far ahead of a cop, I was ready to start accelerating again, thinking it was a false alarm...but it wasn't. Around a turn and over a hill was the cop. He must have previously finished pulling someone over and was in process of backing back into position/hiding spot when I casually drove by doing ~64mph. I was wondering since the detector was soooo sensitive if it would be constantly going off from false signals but so far it doesn't appear to be the case. Westerly, RI to Groton, CT, to Hartford, CT and return I saw 4 cops and every time it alerted with PLENTY of time to check speed before passing the LEO's. SO far, so good! As far as price, it's ~$499 Here's where I got it from. www.1stradardetectors.com/radar-detectors/Passport-Redline-radar-detector/index.phpI checked a bunch of sites but every one was within $5. of each other.

499 isn't a bad price... This year we are probably back to being radarless.. The passport 8500 was in the STi when it was stolen...

Noah, let me know when it gets clost to the rally and if you don't have one I'll let you use the passport 8500. I'm using it in Elaine's car right now.

Don't worry Noah I have V1 wtf? I did not get this memo. When did this happen? You need to be saving money for entry fees & hans devices... not radar detectors lol. ;D

He's had the V1 for a while from what I remember. Didn't you guys have it on the 08 run?

nope.. last year was the first year that the evo had any sort of detection (Scanner & 8500).. in 08 we were detection free, and he was in 07 as well.. Dusty & I were also detection free in Bluebee in 07. EDIT: And Dmitry sent me a txt yesterday, saying he bought it right after the rally after he saw how great it was to have a radar.. He uses it for work.

I just ordered this to go with the new detector. My Escort laser scrabler just crapped out, so I figured I'd give the Blinder unit a try. Now if this stuff only work as well as they say it does.....

Hope so : )
I have a roof vent on order as well so I won't be dying as much in the August heat with no AC installed. No massive rally roof scoop, just a pop up Subaru item that sits almost flush when not in use.
