At a wedding a few weeks ago some older gentleman was talking about the easternmost point in new england and I instantly spit out Lubec. He looked at me dumbfounded and asked how I knew and I told him I'd been there the year before. His only response: "why??"

Lubec is basically where I grew up, it's pretty but a pain to live in because everything is sooo far away. 1 hour to the nearest stop light, 1 hour to the nearest movie theatre, 2 hours to the mall, 5 hours to get out of state.
The roads from Machias to Lubec are good though, pot hole free (by down east standards), and since its lubec... no cops either.
