So my Camry is suffering from a common problem with these cars, a dirty nasty clogged up IAC. This cars purpose in life is to teach me how to do things (how to slide with the ebrake, how to tow cars out of ditches, what not to do when fixing your brakes, etc.) It is a sacrificial car for me to learn on... so I want to fix this myself. I've been reading on the internet and it seems like a pretty easy fix. Everywhere that I read has the following: spray come carb cleaner in there and it will fix everything! and then there are always a couple of comments below that saying OMG no don't spray that in there! You will break everything!!!! (example: www.youtube.com/watch?v=i82s4ZfR2js) Does anyone here have an opinion on this? How about the timing belt? Is there any way that I'd have a chance at being able to pull off changing that myself?

I know on Subaru's it's easy but make sure you get a replacemnt gasket before you take it apart. On the Subies, the gasket swells and you can't get it back on once you unbolt the cover. Instead of blowing ckoke& carb cleaner all over somethimes is better to just spray a Q-tip down with the solvent and locally clean all the crud out.

hmm alright, yea one other source mentioned getting a new gasket, any recommendations on where to snag one of them? They said to get one at the dealership, is there a better place?
