This would be an amazing trip. Might make a perfect first cross-country rally, even without the big sponsor the price isn't too bad.

First that price is just a ball park idea. Meaning the absolute minimum I could pull it off for with limited or no "extras". I'd have to include some forms of entertainment along the way.
As for the update, It is too far in advance for them to commit to anything as of now. She told me to get in touch with her early 09. Soooooo keep your fingers crossed.

i will certainly be in, i will also be 21 by then. as of right now if i had about 5 months notice, i could save enough by putting pocket change away.

let me know if you need help putting together a package, or potential sponsor list. I'll be happy to sit down and help you send out several hundred.

Well... I just got off the phone with Teri at the Playboy Mansion and she informed me that we are more than welcome to bring the New England Rally there! The only catch is they will not commit this far out. I'm going to call back in early 09 to see what would be the best date for us. Soooooooo it's just a matter of time people! This is good news because now I have an "in" at the mansion that gave me the ok for use of the grounds. Now it's time to start saving

I have not even started looking. I want to make sure of the details before I do. I need to secure a date to work out the hotels along the way. I have a few really cool surprizes and I can't do anything until I know when we can use the mansion.
I can call them back in early 09. So I'll have a better Idea then.

Has anyone thought about contacting the Speed channel? It'd be pretty easy to get them interested, being that it's a car rally. Just a thought....

I'd get a hold of Tirerack.com maybe even some other online retailers.. that could use the national advertising. Maybe, carparts.com or similar.

Ya I tried to contact Speed. I never heard back from them. I tried a few tire suppliers. Tire warehouse was the first to climb on board.
if anyone knows someone at one of the other tire places feel free to reach out to them. I'm not sure what the Tirewarehouse has in mind for this year. They were seeing this year as a tight year for funds so they could not commit to anything yet. I have to call them in another month.
That being said... I don't have a problem with approaching another tire sponsor.

I tried to get Nissan on board in 06. Maybe I'll hit them up again this year and see if I can get them to loan me a 370Z.

How about a gas company like Shell? We can only use Shell stations to fill up with their new Nitrogenated(I believe) gas... It cleans your engine while you drive you know And we could post mileage results under "real-world" driving situations OR how about Safe Drives? Those guys specialize in car safety equipment (cages, harnesses, padding, seats, fire extinquishers, etc... www.safedrives.com/How about a GPS Sponsor? Garmin, Tom-Tom, Magellian? Or Escort, Valentine, Bell, radar detectors? K&N Filters? Royal Purple? 5 Hour Energy? (If they can sponsor NASCAR, they can sponsor a Poker Run). Travelocity? Priceline?

Great suggestions Sean. Get on the phone lol.
I tried TomTom, Radar Roy, All kinds of energy drinks. Power Trip were receptive, but they didn't come through like the said they would. RedBull will give us drinks, but they won't give any money and don't want to advertise.
I like the gas idea. I just don't know where to start with them.
I'd like to get an energy drink on board that will be more active than Red Bull.
I've been trying to get one of the online poker rooms on board from day 1, but none seem to have any interst. It would be huge if we could get partypoker or poker palace or something like that.

What about Mohegan Sun or Foxwoods and play up the "HAVIN Fun in a POKER RUN" part of it?
