Wax your cars well the weekend before the rally. I use a removable vinyl that is light tack, but it never hurts to be extra cautious.
Doing it 5-7 days before the run will give it time to harden and it will give more protection than if you do it a day or two before.

Yeah.. We really should have waxed our car before the rally... made de-stickering alot more difficult...

It needs it anyway...

Meguires Cleaning wax then finish with NXT, both with an orbital to apply and remove. I like to see the "liquid black" look it gives my Mustang.

I'm not a fan of the NXT stuff... Meguiars Gold Class is good, and Mothers products are good... My cleaning product of preference is PoorboysWorld.... Go to poorboysworld.com... GREAT stuff...

it's been so long since i've waxed my car that i don't remember. probably mothers or meguiars paste. heh.
last time i did it, i also claybarred it for the first time (car is a 2001) man that took a lot of crap off the paint. i plan to do that every couple years.
