As fun as I'm sure it would be... I see a slight conflict between our sponsors... SWIFT and Synaptic. Maybe another year if they jump on board we can do something with them.

hrm i didn't realize they were up here in NH.
i've been on the lookout for a shop to do some work but i don't know if anyone has any ford experience. not really a broad market; only a few shops i know of that specialize in foci and they're in other states far away.

a few guys have done it; there are buildup threads on focaljet.com. to me that would be a novelty; it would be stupid fast going straight, and shred tires like no tomorrow, but it couldn't possibly handle like my car does now. and it would cost at least $10k plus what the car's worth. for that kind of money i can sell my focus, buy a mustang, project completed.

DUDE!!!! They are the main support shop for a Rally America Series Ford Focus Rally Car. They have GREAT experience with them. A matter of fact, the owner just traded up from the Focus to run Open Class in a WRX. The red focus is for sale if you're interested. Here's their sponsored car.... rally-america.com/photo_gallery.php?pic=2456&gallery=68

ok i am going to beat a dead horse on this one but here it goes:
a famous person by the name of collin chapman once said
"To add speed, add lightness!"
i would like to see a 1600 hp mustang go around turns faster than a lotus exige s!
because as we all know there are turns in life both left and right! and i prefer to go fast around turns for hours on end than to go fast in a straight line for 10 seconds!

On that note, I saw Chris's black Lotus at Synaptic-3 recently receiving a new Supercharger. along with lots more carbon fiber than was on it last year. That is one BAD-A## little track toy.......

i'm not against forced induction, but i like everything in balance. if i upgrade the power i need to upgrade the brakes and upgrade the handling (again) it gets exponentially expensive. my car is all kinds of fun to me right now so i'm sticking with it and saving money.

There is an over all balance to a car... And I have yet to see anything with 1600 hp that maintains that balance and actually has 'usable hp' My RX7 has around 500 RWHP in a 2500 pound car with a ton of suspension work done to it, for road racing. That car can turn low 2 minute lap times at road america in a nut shell 14 turns and 4 miles with me behind the wheel. I would like to see that mustang keep up with me around that track or for closeness sake, watkins glen and of course we would want to run the boot. -Dave

the only "extreme" power machines i've seen that still maintain a commensurate handling ability were Group B Rally cars. but even they reached a limit that we pretty much can't get over: everything depends on the amount of friction you can apply between the road/trail surface and the tires. once your tires overcome starting friction, you're toast.
