hey i am the one the only one to vote for the SRT 4! i like the damed thing! i test drove the neon srt4 and was wowed! the reason i like the dodge more than the evo is steath! who the hell is going to expect a car like that to go like stink?!? i think with a few mods, you know the deal, it can be quite the rally car! the road rally not off-road rally! and the room!!! oh the room! def more than the evo! now i know the evo would wax the floor with the caliber any day of the week but i am only looking at it from a NER type rally perspective!
just my $.02

Well.. The Dodge would be better on gas, more room, looks like a new charger in the rear view, better for long disatance cruising.
The Evo would be more fun.
It's all on what type of rally you want to have.

If you want a slightly used Grey Evo X, I know where you can get one.

Ya, that is great, the evo had to do something drastic to shake us though... And I have to give him a "Very well played" on that move.
Not, I have to agree with hans. If you are planning to do rallys etc, long distance comfort, room, and stealth are going to be much more valuable than how fast can it get there.
Rallys are not about drag racing, or quick bursts of speed. They are about sustained speed over a long distance. Things like fuel economy, and comfort after say 20 hours in a car weigh more to me than hp or top speed etc.
I feel that both of those cars can do 120 - 130 without any trouble. Now what one would you feel more comfortable going 120 to 130 in for 20 hours.?
again, just my .02 cents...
-Dave

Evo's are just pretty. Unless you're considering a Lotus Elise.. That's just sex on wheels!

i am sorry i do like to beat dead horses! (yea i know kinda sick!heh!) but i just decided to get the lowdown on the caliber srt/4 power out put! this is from dodges own website! 285hp@6400rpm and 265lb/ft torque @5600rpm! that does not seem to be a slouch! www.dodge.com/en/2008/caliber/capability/world_engines/click on the SRT/4 engine tab (i.e. 2.4L turbo!)
