I'm thinking of trying to set-up a little TSD running from "somewhere really fun" in RI to "the middle of nowhere almost" in NH.
Interested parties? I'm thinking Saturday after turkey day, running dawn-to-dusk or so.
Feeler only, no promises....

Sounds cool but I'm not sure. Doubtful right now.
How does a 200K 1.6L do to keep up with your GT?
And yes I'm a newbie. TSD??

Time Speed Distance
Those are rallys usually run on paved/unpaved public roads and are great practice for driver and navigator. THe Navigator is the most important factor in this type of rally as he is the one that keeps track of the distance and time to the next route change while driving. It's great team practice for formal rally type events on closed courses.

Thanks for the info.
I'd think stop lights would be a real challenge in this type of event.

umm.... a TSD from RI to NH? Not my thing... TSD's are supposed to be very tight locations... Where you can be going one direction, see other rally cars going the other direction, and wonder if you are right and they are wrong, or if they are right and you are wrong...

RI to NH is purely concept. There's nothing formal right now. Perhaps there's 3 (or more) stages, each one VERY small but in different states....

The TSD we did this weekend was 100 miles total... started at 9:33am, broke for lunch at 12:15pm, started again at 1:23pm, and finished at 4:30pm. 6 hours to go 100 miles... Nonstop driving.. And I think it was probably about a 25 mile diameter.

This will not be "formal" but more towards "fun". If you'd like to share some ideas or suggestionsplease do so. Geography is wide open...
