Let's just say, it's got enough juice to keep up with you guys. And I do drive it! Still looking for some advice on antennas! It would be awesome to rock some old-school 9' whips...

im about to fit my car with a eaton m90 twin screw. once i sort out the tuning aspect that is... The M90 isn't a twinscrew, it's a standard roots-style blower. Still, not a bad choice for the car! I love the way blowers sound!

Not knocking any of the SC guys out there, but I am a bit partial to the sound of a nice large turbo as it spools up. -Dave

Thanks. It's a fun car to drive. It will definitely keep up with most sports cars.
I just finished cleaning up the brakes (had bad rust on the rotors, cleaned 'em and hit the rusty parts with high-temp paint).
Also started playing with a small LCD screen for the carputer, though it's a sucky DVD player screen, not a real VGA touchscreen. It's what I have though, so I may use it for simple stuff like watching movies (episodes of Bullrun) or OBDII monitoring.
I still would like some advice on radio antennas. I've read resources that say scanners use 10-meter band, and CB's use 11. Some people say you can use a long whip for both, and the only shorter whips I've found had center or base loaded coils. I still think it would rock to put on a huge long whip, but that's kinda giving it away...
Anything else I need to know? Properly grounded antenna mounts, SWR meter, etc. etc?

Not to threadjack, but somebody recommend me a good antenna for a BC350a Bearcat... The Window one that I had last year was worthless from more than 1/4 mile away...

You had one of the "on the glass" ones? I can't imagine those work well at all...

I like the low profile antennas from www.antennas.us. I didnt even know they had those like that, much better than the huge towering antennas that I used to have. I cant find any radio shops around here, so I have to order online. Being able to see the product before buy it would be nice. Radioshack has some good stuff I guess. I like the compact CB that I got from them.

Well, I have some news, I bought my wife a Dell Mini 9" laptop last week. So far, I'm really impressed with it, it seems to work very well for what it is. The screen is bigger than most in-dash setups, and I got it for..... get this.... $260! Has 1GB of RAM, 8G solid state drive, runs Windows or Linux, built-in webcam (for live streaming), wireless, sound, and about a 3-4 hour battery life. Dude, it's freaking cool... I got it from the Dell outlet store. You could mount this on a little flex arm, and you'd have everything you need right there for your co-pilot. Easily removable for "stops."
