I will go first! I lost a simple race today...but I still had fun I was driving the M6 today and I drove by my neighbors(kinda, he lives 4 houses down) house.....who owns a Black Mazdaspeed 6. I remember him telling me what mods he has done to it, but I forget what all it is lol. I have known the family for years. He pulls out and honked and waved. I stop and we have a small chat and then we decide to race for some fun. He smoked me pretty good and his BOV(s) made this great sound. We stop and chat for a min and then we part ways. His son used to work with me when I was younger and I remember when they got that car. I need to race him with the new car, but I doubt I can take him with that. His AWD and mods make my RWD and stock motor look like a joke. I need some mods...supercharger sounds good.... Well here is my getting killed story. Do I get some free tacos for going first?

i had a good one the other day.......i was driving home from work at about 10am on my favorite new way home (back road no cops great turns!!!) i stoped to check out a 2000ish BMW 740iL Alpina Blue and dark tinted windows. (i will post pics of that car at the end of this post) i was walking back to my car and saw a mini cooper s works edition go by and decided to give chase. he took the bait and off we went. he easly had me in the straights but i did catch him in the turns. speeds went well above posted limits. we approched a 30mph zone and decided to call it off he would have completely spanked me if it was not for the turns. he pulled over and i pulled in next to him and we chatted for a few minutes and all he could say was "man that was fun i have to do that again sometime, you cant find anyone willing to drive fast anymore!!" i simply told him i drive like that all the time and was suprised when he took off like he did! i also told him about the NER and gave him the web addy so i hope to see him on here soon so he can tell his side. i will admit i got spanked by a mini, but in my defense it was an "S" and it was the John Cooper Works edition!! oh and here are the pics of the bmw i stoped to see!

well because dave asked i will tell a little story. well to start dave and i competed in a auto-x event at the local mall here and after bringing my car back to the house we decided we were not done having fun, so we went for a drive.....or as some might call it patroling for the weak of the herd. we were in daves 94 RX-7, with a turbo that could suck the dresses off of a group of good looking women a mile away, and came across a late 90's early 2000's mustang cobra, all blacked out---the usual black tint, black wheels, black tinted rear lights---and we revved at him and he revved back.....its on we thought. at first he did not bite but after a little taunting from dave they took the bait.... they pulled up along side at a normal speed and off we went...first pull dave lost them they were so far back....they cought up and tryed to pull on dave....dave being the ass hole he is did not even use full throttle and caught up to them.... then dave started taunting them again and again we went....no contest and right at that point i see a sheriff comming the other way and tell dave to take the next exit and hide as i watched the sheriff put his brakes on. we took off and hid in a very secluded place where there was no visual lanes to see daves car from the main roads.......oh and the mustang....yea we have yet to see that car again!!!

I have a story here to tell everyone on why it is not a good idea to speed on the roads.
I went with hans to see his mom in kingston, NY. So we are coming back, and I am going a bit over the speed limit on 17 on the way back. Mainly because it was late, and we needed to get back for work and other such fun things.
I was not in any mood to play, and I passed a red evo X. just pulled back into my lane and continued on with the cruise on. So he starts coming back up on me, and just fly's by me. I am sitting there staring at the radar detector going off, then see the state trooper.
He looks at the red Evo, then me coming up, then pulls out. I am still just sitting there with the cruise set. The cop pulls out falls behind me, then pulls up beside me, hits the side light on the light bar, looks in at us for a bit, then takes off after the Evo. Since I was going around 70-75 (in a 65). I can assure you he was going way way faster than that. As he passed us like we were sitting still.
So up the road, I see the car again with the state trooper behind them pulled over.
Not sure if this should be considered a kill or if I was killed, but I never saw him pass us again till we got back here.

Had an interesting incident about a year ago. I was going home for work (about a 12 mile drive through sugar cane farmland, not many houses) and I see an older (1989) white Corvette tearing up my 6:00, passing people and generally driving like a retard (no offense to those who are mentally handicapped). Well, as I approach a 4-way stop which opens into a nice long deserted straight, I figure I'd stretch the Saturn's legs and see what happens. I definitely wasn't going to let him pass me if I didn't have to! So we passed the 4-way and I gunned it. Sure enough, he's following me. I topped out 3rd gear, shifted into fourth, and then came up to a nice long bend in the road. I waited until the very last second, hit the brakes, and 4-wheel drifted around the corner, praying I wouldn't go flying into a cane field. I looked in my rearview mirror to see if he had caught me, and all I saw was the side of his car, and tire smoke everywhere. I looped around, came back to the curve and stopped. The Vette was upside-down in the ditch, and the kid driving it was standing there in shock. I asked him if he was okay, and the only thing he could say was "Damn, that little car's fast!" Turns out the kid was 17 and had just bought the Vette used for $8000, and didn't have collision insurance on it. However, he was okay, the car was recovered without much damage, and he still drives it (hopefully a little better). And before anybody makes cracks about me dreaming of beating a Corvette, let me remind you it was an '89 with an L98 rated for 230HP through an auto trans, my car makes 210+ and has a 5-speed!

And a kid that didn't know how to drive behind the wheel. Glad he was ok though.
I hate when kids buy cars that are beyond their driving ability and go out and race people thinking their car will drive for them.
I let them go on their way and laugh at them.

I was going onto RT 95s from RT 12 in Groton CT (Near the Sub Base, home to many youger guys with $$$ to spend on cars they don't know how to driver properly). A few of kids in a white Supra kept gassing it then slamming on their brakes behind me to the point that they came within inches of hitting my rear bumper (achieving their purpose and PI##ing me off). I decided that if they took the turn off onto RT 95 that I'd lose them before the Gold Star bridge and if not the cops are usually stationed there at the bridge if they blast past me. Coming onto the ~270 deg. on ramp I hit the damping controller in the car to stiffen the suspension up, then accelerated around the apex of the turn up the ramp. I lifted the throttle a bit as the onramp turned onto the access road for RT95 and see in my rearview, the Supra fishtailing back and forth until he lost control of it and went over the curb and into the grassground. The only thing I can think of is he panicked and punched the brake in mid turn. There's one repair bill that didn't need to happen.

Reading some of these later posts, It reminds me of when I was in one of my high schools. One of my classmates turned 16 not long after me, this would have been early 90's. I beat him to the punch and got my first real car over the summer before the school season started. Nothing major, but a 88 323 GTX. It was fun little car, but not what I would consider fast etc.
Well my friend turned 16 and his parents got him a ZR1 vette, well within a month it was totaled around a tree. So I went to see him in the hospital, and at home... Was talking to his parents, asked them to get him driving lessons before another car. Spring rolled around almost done wtih that year in school, and he rolled in driving a new Lotus Esprit. His parents didn't listen and he wrecked that over the summer, and it didn't turn out so well for him that time.
Words of wisdom, rich parents don't make you a good driver.

Went to VT last Sunday for a drive (just to pick up some VT Cheddar cheese). Anyhow, on RT 91N just north of Springfield, MA I pass by this kid and his girlfriend in an SRT4 with a gage pod on the A-Pillar (I passed him doing just over posted limit, wsince we were just out for a scenic drive). As soon as I saw the gage pod+ SRT4 I just knew this kid was going to be a douch#-bag. As soon as I passed him I looked over to the wife and said "Watch this kid is going to take me passing him as some kind of insult and want to race/impress girlfriend." The wife says "Why, whats the point......in THAT?" and she starts laughing. Sure enough, for the next 5 or so miles Johnny dipwad pulls next to me dumps the clutch and shoots up the road @ about 80=90mph then slows back down to where we are at and does this over and over again. At this point the wife just starts looking at him, smiling and shaking her head. She said, "that boy really has a little Napoleon complex going on doesn't he." He finally stopped after we passed a cruiser on the side of the road. He wasn't worth wasting gas over.

Last night we were heading up 93N going with the flow of traffic and we were in the passing lane in a group of about 8 cars. The speed limit was 55 so you know how fast New Englanders drive in 55. All of a sudden I notice a car coming up behind us and he's cooking and I mean really fast. As he gets a little closer I notice some familiar looking lights and figure I should let him pass.
There is a guy to my right so I can't get over so I hit the gas to pass him andd see this car behind me speeding up. I want to get out of his way so I speed up and change lanes so he can pass. I look down and I'm about 20 over the limit. He gets next to me and I see the push bar just out of the corner of my eye.
He speeds up a little, I speed up a little... He speeds up a little more, I speed up a little more.... Then I look down at the speed-o and notice that I REALLY want to slow down.
Just then Karoline says to me.... Are you trying to race that cop? I laugh and slow down... Looks like he won lol.
The funny thing is that by the time I slowed down the traffic that was with us was RIGHT behind me.
It seems that EVERYONE was racing the cop lol.

I tried messing w/ you a few yrs ago in Westerly when I had my srt...but you just shook your head at me. I was kinda disappointed, I think mine would have been worth the gas, it had a few bolt ons I saw you driving down 49 on Sunday afternoon
