May is the TOD and I wish you safe travels and a fun time.
August is the annual run and all of 8 are currently signed up. I know that at least 4 more will sign up so that's 12 (13 if you include Sean). I will see everyone then for sure.
There is, however, a bit of a gap between May and August and several of the "usual suspects" are MIA. So what's everyone doing in mid-June?
If there were a 1-day rally running some of the more-fun roads in NY would anyone show up?
I'm thinking around the middle-portion of the state (which may include a stop at Watkins Glen for photo op.'s).
Thoughts? Feedback? Ideas?
Leave your flame-throwers at home I'm just gauging interest...
Cheers!

I may be interested.... Will have to see as things get closer. We recently got a $14 Billion Contract at work and that may mean a very busy summer for our department, trying to sort things out.

Not sure, my schedule is mixed between NER, the Mazda club I'm part of, the club I run and at some point I'm making a road trip halfway across the country to swap cars with my brother

Hans, I have a great idea! You started a solid route... now add some more miles and scenery to it and I think you've got a winner. I'm handing you the ball for this, run with it!!!! Expand the route, pick a good starting point (think access and easy to find) and post-up a date/time to start. You're the man for starting the route! Let me know if you need any help! Cheers!

I would suggest starting somewhere in SE NY like LI or something. Then heading north.

My input would be to see the two great state parks we have here in new york, I would start / end with them. I know all the back roads aournd them, and great hole in the wall places to eat.
The Adirondacks and the catskills are both amazing places with much to do.

I have been putting some thought into this. New York has so many different types of areas, from state parks, to little hole in the wall towns that have great eateries. I think 1 day, would be very hard to pull off. I have put together about 4 routes with different focuses. like scenery, roads, towns unique things, and events.
I would like to get some of these posted, but first would like to see what people gauge for interest in each of the above categories first.

still working on the route. and trying to find alternate days to drive. i would like to see if i can corridinate a day on watkins with the skip barber racing school so we can actually drive our cars on the track. the wine fest is just that wine and you can take a pace car ride around the track for a fee but i dont know about all of you, i would like to drive the damned track at speed! let me work on this some and i will post back soon.
