Launch voids the waranty the second you push that button. And the computer keeps track of where and when you pushed it. I heard of a few people that blew the trans and brought it in only to get a HUGE bill and a lecture on how you are not supposed to use the feature. When you buy it they even make you sign a statement saying that you won't use launch or you know it voids the waranty. Soooo I suggest you don't get curious lol.

i was told by a Nissan representative for the program they ran at UTi that Nissan has a program that would shut the car over around give or take 120mph. and that a licensed tech with the scan tool can only access the pcm for tuning.

160, Um, I could attest to that, but lets not forget the tire malfunction we experienced either. My friend has one of the first in the country, and is asking very little for it if someone was really interested. He is saddened that his eclipse and RX7 are pushing way better numbers all around.
I never asked about the shutdown, but I am sure his is at least tuned, as they have the stuff to do it.

+1 I had the drivers side front wheel fall off my old Jeep Cherokee at that speed on RT95s(after just getting new tires mounted). After stoping by plowing the grassground to the left of the high speed lane with my rotor, I got out to find that the passenger side well lugs were only finger tight as well. I was so pis#ed I walked the 5 miles back to the garage and threw the keys at the poor desk clerk. Told them it's your F/N mistake, go find it and FIX it. I always re-check and torque my own wheels from then on.

Well Bobbie, it is not so much we had the issue, but we refused to believe it. It was just a strange sort of way it all fell together, but I do agree with you, it was not your fault, but the fault of the shitty road known as 17 soon to be interstate 86 out this way.
