So I just made plans for a different type of cross country trip - via train.
I've done it by car and plane countless times, so I figured it was time to do it another way. Boston to Seattle in early July, with a two night layover in Chicago.
I'm looking forward to this almost as much as the NER. Almost.....

Good choice on the layover in Chi-Town. Great city.
Most of my family is up there. Its been years since i took a day while visiting to be a "tourist" but there are a lot of cool things there.

Having lived in Wisconsin, Chicago is great, I know that city like the back of my hand.
As to trains, I love them, and you will enjoy yourself - also look into the california zephyr sometime, another really great route. Sleeper cars are the only way to travel...

Yeah, early this year I was looking to head home from So Cal by train via Seattle, but it didn't pan out. I would love to go up the Pacific Coast by rail.
And when all is said and done, this trip really will be planes, trains and automobiles - BOS to SEA via train, SEA to Colorado in a car and then flying home the week before the big day. So how are the rest of you killing your time between now and then? Maybe I should be working on my car.....

AC works. Some Hella 700FFs mounted. I think I'm about due for an oil change, but I'll save that for when I get back. Beyond that, I think he's ready to roll.....
